Make your page yours

Cover photo, bio, brand color, portfolio, twenty minutes of setup that decides whether your page reads "real business" or "empty template."

Before you start: Your handle claimed ("Claim your page and handle"), 5-10 photos of your actual work on your phone, and two honest sentences about what you do.

Why bother

A customer who lands on your page decides in seconds. A real cover photo, a human bio, and a gallery of actual work reads as "this person is legit, I can pay them." A gray placeholder reads as "is this still a business?" Everything in this guide is that first impression.

Open the Finish your page checklist on the business side, it tracks each step below and jumps you to the right editor.

Cover photo, the make-or-break one

The wide image across the top of your page.

  1. Use a photo of your work or your space, the cake table, the lash room, your best plate. Not a stock sunset, not your logo on white.

  2. Landscape beats portrait: it's a wide slot, and phones crop tall photos aggressively.

  3. Natural light, sharp focus, taken this year. If nothing on your camera roll qualifies, spend ten minutes tomorrow morning shooting one, it outperforms everything else on this list.

About you, two sentences, not an essay

Customers want to know three things, what you do, for whom, and where:

Write like you talk. Skip "passionate about creating unforgettable experiences", nobody's ever ordered a cake because of that sentence.

Brand color

Pick the accent color your page uses. Match your logo or packaging if you have them; if not, pick something and stay consistent. Consistency reads as brand, swapping weekly reads as fidgeting.

Portfolio, proof you're good

The gallery is where a browser becomes a buyer.

  1. Start with 6-10 of your best real photos. Best, not most recent.

  2. One subject per photo, filling the frame. Group shots and collages die at thumbnail size.

  3. Refresh it when you do notable work, a live portfolio quietly says "this business is active."

Arrange the page

Arrange page lets you reorder sections and hide what you don't use. Put the thing people come for first: booking-first if you're appointments, shop-first if you sell goods. Hide empty sections without guilt, a hidden section beats a bare one.
